Kilig H01S ice makers series are completely portable. No water inlet is required. With its carry handle, you can even carry the machines with you where you go. Simply place the machine on a stable surface, fill the water reservoir and plug into a power source. Yes, Kilig H01 is designed for portability, with a carry handle installed. It’s compact, requires no installation or water inlet. As long as you have access to a power source and are protected from direct exposure to the elements, you can use the H01 anywhere. You must, however, ensure that you let the ice maker rest for at least three hours before use so the refrigerant has enough time to settle before you start making ice.

Q: Can the Kilig machine be stored near a microwave?

A: Storage proximity to a microwave is not a problem. All you need is 3-4 inches of clearance on all sides of the machine for good airflow. 



Q: I just unboxed my Kilig machine. Why is it taking longer than expected to make ice? 

A: The first 4-5 batches of ice may take slightly longer to make than usual and the ice could be thinner than expected. Don’t worry, this is just the machine warming up! For best performance follow these set-up tips: 

• On receiving your Kilig ice maker, let it rest for at least 3-4 hours so the refrigerant has enough time to settle before you start making ice. 
• Place the machine in a cool area, away from sunlight that has at least 4 inches of free space on all sides for good airflow. 
• Run a round of self-cleaning before using the device.
  
  The subsequent batches will freeze faster since the machine is already chilled and starts making perfect ice in the promised timespan. The same applies if you have moved the machine for any reason. 

Q: How long can the ice stay in the machine before melting?

The Kilig H01 does not keep ice frozen but it keeps making continuous batches of ice every 6-8 minutes. The ice holds in the machine for a limited time only. For best results, we recommend you transfer the ice to a freezer or add it to your drink as soon as it is ready. 


Q: Does the ice maker shut off when full. Or does it continue to make ice?

A: Smart sensors detect when the ice basket is full or if the water level in the reservoir is running low, and stops making ice. You will be alerted of the same on the display panel of the machine. Remove the ice and store in a freezer. If you do not remove the ice, it melts back into the reservoir and is recycled into making the next batch of ice. 


Q: Can you remove the basket to make space for more ice?

A: No you cannot do that because the water reservoir sits right below the basket. If you remove the basket, the ice will fall directly into the water reservoir and melt. 


Q: Can I open the cover to get ice while still making ice?

A: Yes, you can take ice from the ice basket once a batch of ice is ready. The machine will continue making the next batch of ice. However, we advise you to remove the ice basket, transfer the ice to the drink or freezer and close the lid promptly. 

Q: What happens to the water if the ice melts? 

A: The melted ice water goes back into the water reservoir and is used to make the next batch of ice.

Q: Can I run the Kilig ice maker continuously?

A: Yes, you can leave the Kilig Portable Ice Maker running continuously without a worry. A state of the art condenser fan keeps the machine cooling effectively, while operating noise-free. Kilig is also highly energy-efficient; running a Kilg machine consumes the same amount of energy as running a 100 Watt bulb. Only keep an eye out for smart indicators to prompt you if the ice basket is full or if the water level in the reservoir is low. This is when the ice maker pauses the ice making process. 

Q: Do I have to unplug the machine when not in use?

A: You can leave the machine plugged in without any issues. Only remember to drain the excess water and power off the machine after every use.

Q: How do I clean the Kilig H01?

A: For a quick and efficient cleaning, turn on the self-cleaning function by pressing down the ON/OFF button together for 5 seconds. The cycle takes about 30 minutes. When done, drain the water by pulling the drain plug at the base of the machine and wipe down the inside of the machine with a soft cloth. You can do this once every week. 

For a deeper clean, follow these steps. First, take out any remaining ice and empty the water reservoir by pulling the drain plug located at the base of the machine. Next, use a cleaner and descaler solution to wipe the interior surfaces of the machine. Q: How do I drain remaining water from the Kilig ice maker?

A: The Kilig Portable Ice Maker machines have a drain plug, or a drain valve located at the bottom of the unit. To drain the water, simply remove the plug or open the valve and allow the water to flow out into a bucket. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions.

Q: Where is the water drain located?

The drain plug is located at the bottom left and looks like a little stopper. Drain excess water and put the drain plug back on.

Q: The H01 started making smaller ice than none at all, what could be causing this?

A: Unplug the unit and clean it. If the unit does not make ice after cleaning it, the unit may require service. Before raising a serving request, however, we request you refer to the hard copy of the product manual or download it from our website, and refer to the troubleshoot instructions.
